Get matched with a tutor
We match you with a professional tutor who actually understands physics and can explain it in ways that click, rather than just reciting formulas at you.
Meet online or in person
We work through problems together and show you how to approach physics questions strategically, whichever format fits your schedule.
Leave with a study plan
Walk away from every session with a clearer understanding of the concepts, useful practice resources, and a study plan you can actually follow.
What a physics tutoring session looks like.
Sessions run 50 minutes. Physics is one of those subjects where a small gap in understanding can snowball fast, so we start by figuring out exactly where things went sideways. From there, we work through problems together, build up the concepts properly, and make sure every student leaves with resources to keep practicing on their own.
Every student is different. Some need help catching up on Physics 11 concepts before Physics 12. Others are prepping for a big test or working through a set of harder problems. We focus on what's most useful for that student, which usually means lots of practice problems done together.
Online or in person, whatever works best.
For most students, we'd suggest starting with online tutoring, since it's flexible and easy to schedule. If a student doesn't have a quiet workspace or a reliable computer at home, in-person tutoring is a great option. We can meet at home, in a coffee shop, or at school.
For online sessions, you'll get a PDF of everything covered after each session. There's also the option to record the session, which is handy for reviewing before a test.

What students say.
"Been looking for a tutor and this just feels right. Not only tutors but resources that keep you going, too! As an engineering student, they are very helpful. Totally worth it!!"
"My daughter is in first year engineering and was struggling with matrix algebra. On her behalf, I contacted Heywood Academies. Matt got back to me right away and set my daughter up with an excellent, friendly tutor and her marks have improved significantly. Thanks to Heywood Academies, both my and my daughter’s stress levels have come down."
"Super easy to communicate and schedule with, and the tutoring really helped with the final push through Physics 11."
"I started tutoring with Matt because I was struggling with my first year Physics and Calculus courses at UVic. I had tried a couple of other tutors before Matt, but Matt was by far the most patient and intelligent. He ended up getting me through all of my Calculus levels and Matrix Algebra. I cannot recommend him enough."
