Types of Tutoring
We offer high school tutoring in Victoria to students in math, physics, chemistry, and biology. Our team of tutors are educated and easy to get along with. They know that academic success is hard work! Our goal is to address gaps in students’ knowledge and setup students with the resources they need to study effectively on their own.
Online Tutoring
Many students prefer to meet virtually through online tutoring because it is more convenient and cost-effective. All of our tutors are fully equipped with quiet office space, high-speed internet, webcams, and microphones to ensure a good quality online session.
Our tutors all have tablets so they can share what they are writing on the screen. Students receive a PDF of the notes at the end of each session and have the option to have their sessions recorded.
In-Person Tutoring
Heywood Academies offers In-person tutoring in Victoria, BC for high school students.
Our tutors meet students in coffee shops, at libraries or at home.
Individual Tutoring
Students get the time and attention they need with private tutoring.
Our private tutoring sessions are fully customized to meet the individual needs of each student.
With individual tutoring, tutors engage students by asking them questions and working together to solve problems.

We offer high school math tutoring to students in British Columbia and Alberta. Many students find Math 11 and 12 to be very challenging. A lot of colleges and universities require students to take high school math classes as a prerequisite to post-secondary education programs.

High School Physics Tutoring
High school physics courses require a good understanding of math and can be very tough for high school students. Kinematics tends to be a tough subject for many students. We find that practicing math skills as well as physics concepts tends to be a good approach. We have tons of extra practice problems to help with high school physics.

High School Chemistry Tutoring
Students need lots of practice to excel in high school chemistry. We are big fans of the Chemistry Workbooks by Hebden as they contain tons of practice problems. But don’t worry, we have copies of both grade 11 and 12 versions of these books to use as practice.

FAQ
Do you offer in person tutoring?
Yes! We offer in person high school tutoring in Victoria. You can get help with your courses at home, at a library, or in a coffee shop.
How does online tutoring work?
Online tutoring sessions are booked through our website. The email used for the booking will receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link. All of our tutors have tablets, so they can share what they are writing on their screen in the sessions. At the end of the sessions, the students are sent a PDF of the notes.
Do you offer academic guidance?
Yes! A big part of our success with students is improving their study habits. Our goal is to teach students how to study effectively on their own and provide them with the resources they need.
Do you assign students homework?
Sometimes! If a student has a hard time staying motivated to study, we will assign them extra problems to solve in between sessions. That way student gets in extra practice throughout the semester.
