Types of Tutoring
At Heywood Academies, we offer in-person and online college and university tutoring for Calculus, Linear Algebra, Physics, Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering courses.
Online Tutoring
Many students prefer to meet virtually through online tutoring because it is more convenient and cost-effective. All of our tutors are fully equipped with quiet office space, high-speed internet, webcams, and microphones to ensure a good quality online session.
Our tutors all have tablets so they can share what they are writing on the screen. Students receive a PDF of the notes at the end of each session and have the option to have their sessions recorded.
In-Person Tutoring
We offer in-person tutoring at Camosun College and The University of Victoria!
We can meet you at the Camosun College Interurban Library, Camosun College Lansdowne Library, or the University of Victoria Library.
Individual Tutoring
Students get the time and attention they need with private tutoring.
Our private tutoring sessions are fully customized to meet the individual needs of each student.
With individual tutoring, tutors engage students by asking them questions and working together to solve problems.

Studying with a friend? Bring them along and you each receive a discount on your tutoring sessions.

College and University Calculus Tutor
We offer College and University calculus tutoring to 1st and 2nd year students. Many students find calculus to be very challenging, especially if it has been out of school for a while. Studying calculus requires lots of repetition! We always set up our students with lots of videos and practice problems to ensure they have the materials they need to succeed.

We offer College and University linear algebra tutoring to 1st and 2nd year students. These courses can be theoretical and abstract. It can often be difficult for students to understand what is happening when we solve these problems. We try to keep it simple and practical by drawing diagrams.

We offer College and University physics tutoring to 1st and 2nd year students. We have a fun and engaging approach to physics! We find that solving lots of different word problems is a good approach to learning physics. Every question is a little different, so we need to build up those problem-solving skills!

College and University Engineering Tutor
We offer college and University engineering tutoring to 1st year students. The first year of engineering programs typically consists mainly of Math and Science courses. Most engineering programs have a statics course in their first year which is tough! Statics covers topics in physics with a higher level of math and is practically applied to engineered systems.

We offer College and University mechanical engineering tutoring to 1st and 2nd year students. The mechanical engineering courses require a solid understanding of math, and physics. The university courses usually have a higher level of calculus and linear algebra included in their mechanical engineering courses.
