Posted on Google Justin Brown I'm returning to studying after many years and I needed some guidance in developing practical and effective study habits. This proved to be a bit overwhelming for me so I decided to consult a tutor, and I'm glad I did! I had a great experience with Matt at Heywood Academies. Definitly recommend.Posted on Google JCHL Pratt We have tried a few tutors over the years and none have been overly helpful. As much as they are smart the tutoring quickly became boring and tiresome. Matt has a great business here. It is efficient and organzied. He matched our daughter with a great tutor who is young and teaches in a way that makes sense to her. He was able to match us quickly with someone to come to the house. We highly recommend.Google rating score: 5.0 of 5, based on 29 reviews
How it Works

Get matched with a chemistry tutor who actually understands chemistry and can explain it in ways that makes sense.

Meet online or in person and actually work through problems together. No lectures. No re-reading your textbook out loud. Just real problem-solving, side by side.

Walk away from every session with better notes, targeted practice resources, and a clear plan for what to study next
What a Tutoring Session Actually Looks Like
Sessions are 50 minutes. We start by figuring out what’s causing the confusion. Sometimes it’s a concept, sometimes it’s the math underneath the concept. Then we work through problems together, step by step, until the approach feels natural rather than guesswork.
How Much Does Chemistry Tutoring Cost?
Online tutoring costs $65 per session and in-person tutoring costs $90 per session. Most students booking regular sessions purchase our prepaid 8-session package where you pay for 8 sessions upfront and save $40.
Should I do In Person or Online Tutoring?
Both formats work well for chemistry. Online sessions are flexible and easy to fit around a busy school schedule. After each session, you’ll get a PDF of everything we worked through, and you can record the session to review before exams.
In-person tutoring is a good fit if you prefer working through problems on paper or want a more hands-on study environment. We can meet at your home, your school, or a local coffee shop in the Greater Victoria area.
Not sure which is better for you? Just let us know in the form and we’ll recommend what tends to work best.
