What we teach, and who we teach.
What subjects do you tutor?
For high school students, we tutor math, physics, chemistry, biology, and science. For post-secondary students, we tutor calculus, linear algebra, statistics, physics, and engineering. If you're not sure whether we cover your course, just reach out and ask.
What curriculum do you tutor?
We tutor the BC curriculum, IB (International Baccalaureate), and AP (Advanced Placement) courses. If you're not sure whether we cover your specific course, just reach out and ask.
What grade levels do you work with?
We work with high school students (grades 8 through 12) and post-secondary students at UVic and Camosun College.
Do you tutor at Camosun College and UVic specifically, or other schools too?
We work with students from various high schools in the Victoria area, as well as UVic and Camosun College students. If your school isn't listed, we can likely still help.
Do you work with students who have learning differences or need extra support?
Yes. Our tutors have lots of experience working with students on the autism spectrum, students with ADHD, and students with other learning differences. We're happy to talk through what's worked well for your student so we can match them with the right approach.
Do you help with exam prep?
Yes. We help students prepare for midterms, finals, and provincial exams, with a focus on building understanding rather than just last minute cramming.
How sessions run.
How long are tutoring sessions?
Sessions are 50 minutes long.
Do you offer online tutoring?
Yes. We offer online tutoring throughout British Columbia, so no matter where you're located in the province, we can connect you with a tutor. We also offer in-person sessions in Victoria, Saanich, Oak Bay, Esquimalt, View Royal, Colwood, and Langford.
Who are your tutors?
Our tutors have backgrounds in engineering, science, and math, and know the BC curriculum inside and out. We pick tutors who were high academic achievers in their own schooling, have backgrounds in tutoring and education, hold a current criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening, and pass our tutoring test.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged the full price of the session.
What if I'm not happy with my tutor?
No problem at all. If a tutor isn't the right fit, we're happy to switch you to someone else, as long as another tutor is available for that subject. Just let us know and we'll take care of it.
What it costs, and how you pay.
How much does tutoring cost?
Sessions are 50 minutes and cost $70 online or $95 in person, paid as you go. You can also prepay eight sessions for $520 online or $720 in person, saving $40. You can find more detail on our High School Tutoring page and our College & University Tutoring page.
How do prepaid packages work?
A prepaid package covers eight sessions and saves you $40, so $520 online or $720 in person. The hours never expire, so you can use them whenever you need them, whether that's weekly through a term or saved up for exam season. If you decide not to use them, packages are refundable less a $35 administration fee.
How do I pay for sessions?
Your credit card is collected during the registration form through our secure third-party billing platform. On the 15th of each month, your card is billed for the sessions completed in the previous billing period. There's no need to manually pay for sessions, everything is handled automatically.
Can tutoring help with StudentAid BC funding?
Some students use StudentAid BC funding to help cover tutoring costs. Requirements and reimbursement amounts can change, so we recommend checking directly with StudentAid BC for current details.
