What subjects do you tutor?
For high school students, we tutor math, physics, chemistry, biology, and science. For post-secondary students, we tutor calculus, linear algebra, statistics, physics, and engineering. If you’re not sure whether we cover your course, just reach out and ask.
What curriculum do you tutor?
We tutor the BC curriculum, IB (International Baccalaureate), and AP (Advanced Placement) courses. If you’re not sure whether we cover your specific course, just reach out and ask.
What grade levels do you work with?
We work with high school students (grades 8 through 12) and post-secondary students at UVic and Camosun College.
Do you offer online tutoring?
Yes. We offer online tutoring throughout British Columbia, so no matter where you’re located in the province, we can connect you with a tutor. We also offer in-person sessions throughout Victoria, including Oak Bay, Langford, and surrounding neighborhoods.
Who are your tutors?
Our tutors have backgrounds in engineering, science, and math, and know the BC curriculum inside and out. We pick tutors who were high academic achievers in their own schooling, have backgrounds in tutoring and education, pass criminal record checks, and pass our tutoring test.
How do I get started?
Fill out our contact form to book a free consultation. We’ll talk through what your student needs and figure out if we’re a good fit. If it makes sense to move forward, you’ll fill out a short registration form, and then we’ll match your student with a tutor and get sessions booked.
How much does tutoring cost?
Rates vary depending on subject and level. You can find current pricing on our High School Tutoring page and our Post-Secondary Tutoring page.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged the full price of the session.
How long are tutoring sessions?
Sessions are 50 minutes long.
Can tutoring help with StudentAid BC funding?
Some students use StudentAid BC funding to help cover tutoring costs. Requirements and reimbursement amounts can change, so we recommend checking directly with StudentAid BC for current details.
Do you help with exam prep?
Yes. We help students prepare for midterms, finals, and provincial exams, with a focus on building understanding rather than just last minute cramming.
Do you work with students who have learning differences or need extra support?
Yes. Our tutors have lots of experience working with students on the autism spectrum, students with ADHD, and students with other learning differences. We’re happy to talk through what’s worked well for your student so we can match them with the right approach.
How quickly can my student start?
Most students are matched with a tutor and ready to start within 3 days of completing the registration form.
Do you tutor at Camosun College and UVic specifically, or other schools too?
We work with students from various high schools in the Victoria area, as well as UVic and Camosun College students. If your school isn’t listed, we can likely still help.
How do I pay for sessions?
Your credit card is collected during the registration form through our secure third-party billing platform. On the 15th of each month, your card is billed for the sessions completed in the previous billing period. There’s no need to manually pay for sessions, everything is handled automatically.
What if I’m not happy with my tutor?
No problem at all. If a tutor isn’t the right fit, we’re happy to switch you to someone else, as long as another tutor is available for that subject. Just let us know and we’ll take care of it.
